Realtime should be a building block every team adds in minutes, not infrastructure it has to build and babysit: each customer's own isolated space, events and shared state under one permission model, live by default, and nothing kept that wasn't asked for.

Why we build it

To connect people.

Behind every event that flows through Thuum there are people: a class answering a question together, a team watching the same board, an audience cheering the same moment from different places. Realtime is what lets them be together at the same time, wherever they are. Thuum exists so that any product can give its people that: the feeling that someone is there, now, with them.

Give companies and developers a realtime platform that is isolated per customer, live by default, honest about money, and theirs to leave.

Respect

For people, their data and their choices: we take only what we need, keep it only as long as asked, and never impose our way of building.

  • Live by default; keeping is a choice

    Data is ephemeral unless you choose to keep it, for how long and how much. Long-lived storage is an explicit choice, with its own guarantees.

  • Know as little as possible

    Thuum keeps what it needs to run, and nothing else: no money in the platform, no personal data from Partners, no secret in plain text. A Partner never sees its Domains' data.

  • Our code is optional

    Thuum speaks web standards: WebSocket, HTTP, JSON. Our client library is there if you want it, never if you don't. Your stack, your call.

Transparency

Everything in plain sight: prices, limits, the way out, and how your data is kept safe. No tricks, no surprises.

  • No surprises in money

    Prepaid credit, fixed prices, no subscriptions, no bill for an amount you didn't know in advance. A price never changes during a period. Refunds are a right, not a favour.

  • No dark patterns

    What you see is what you get. No tricks to sign you up, keep you in or make you pay more: every price, limit and exit sits in plain sight.

  • Security in the open

    How we protect your data and access is documented, not hidden: keys, tokens and claims, how WebSockets and REST carry your data, what we store and why. Every choice explained. Privacy you can check, not take on faith.

Ownership

What's yours stays yours: your data, your infrastructure, your decision to stay or go.

  • Your data is yours

    We never use it, for anything. We never share it, with anyone. Keep it as long as you like, or delete it for good, whenever you want.

  • Free to leave

    Wipe everything and walk away, any time. A release leaves nothing behind, and a buy-out is always on the table.

  • Run it yourself

    Managed by us, or owned by you. Thuum ships as containers for teams that want the infrastructure in their own hands.

What Thuum won't do

  • Blow up your budget with amounts you couldn't see coming.
  • Keep data longer than you chose, or claim ephemerality it can't prove.
  • Use your data for any purpose, or share it with anyone.
  • Make leaving hard.
  • Hide a price, a limit or the way out.
  • Ask for trust in its security without explaining how it works.
  • Force its SDK, packages or binaries into your stack.
  • Lock you into its cloud.
